Our connector this Spring A term is
Far, Far Away.
During this connector, we will be learning about the seven continents in the world and Australia. The children will describe the human and physical features of a small area in Australia. The children will learn about animals and learn about the animals that in Australia. They will be retelling an aboriginal art and a dance using aboriginal music.
The children will be learning to count on when working out addition number sentences. They will also learn to count back when working out subtraction number sentences. This term will also include problem-solving and reasoning using addition and subtraction.
Children will begin to learn about animals that live in Australia. They will name and identify the creatures and describe their similarities and differences. We will continue to observe the changing seasons.
Children will be adding information to photograph and talking about what they have found out. They also will be sorting different kinds of information and present it to others.
This term we will be thinking about people who help, inspire and guide us. We will be learning the story of the 'Good Samaritan' and how it guides people.
- Read with your child regularly and discuss their books.
- Read some non-fiction books about seas and oceans.
- Talk about what they have learnt at school.
- Practise counting forwards and backwards.
Home Reading Books
- We have a rota for changing the children's books. We will be aiming to change at least 6 children's books each day.
- Please bring your book bag every day.
Please make sure your child has their P.E kit in school on P.E days (Monday & Wednesday).
We go to the library on Tuesday every week. Please make sure you have your library book in school so that it can be changed.
