Our focus for this term is the Romans and the legacy they left Britain. We will be finding out about Roman roads, baths, language, towns and infrastructure. Using a range of historical and modern day texts we will learn about how the Romans changed British life.
Pupils will develop their mastery of using different mediums in art. Following the Roman theme, we will create mosaics.
In history we will be uncovering the timeline of the Roman Empire; how and why they invaded Britain.
During Maths we will be looking at mass and capacity. We will be focusing on aspects of measurement, including using the correct units of measure. We will also be finding out all about Geometry and the properties of shape.
In science we will be investigating magnets. Pupils will identify magnetic and non-magnetic materials and the effect of magnetic poles. Children will take part in a number of practical activities which will involve predicting, observing and recording.
In Computing, the children will create their own games using Scratch and 2DIY 3D. Children will create computer programs using sequence and repetition. Laptops will be used to research the Roman era.
This term our PE is on Wednesdays and Thursdays, please ensure that your child has a full PE kit, so they can participate.
Homework will go out on Fridays and we will expect it to be in the following Wednesday.
