A Love of Learning and the Perseverance to Succeed (LLPS)

Summer B 2017

Welcome to 4DG!

Welcome back!

We hope you had an exciting half term holiday.

Our connector for this half term is called

'Mamma Mia!'

This term we will be exploring the fascinating European country of Italy.  We will look at its geography, history, people, culture and, of course, its food!

In English, we will be writing suspense stories about the destruction of the ancient city of Pompeii, as well as creating our own holiday brochures.

In Maths, we will be exploring how we use statistics, including collecting, organising and reading information from tables and charts.  We will be continuing to develop our fluency, reasoning and solving exciting problems.

Creating Monet-style pictures of Venice using water colour paints

will be our main focus in Art.  One of the highlights will be the amazing opportunity to choose your own ingredients to make pizzas!

Have a look at the links at the bottom of this page if you would like to find out more.

Please remember to bring your P.E. kit including a change of footwear on  Monday and Wednesday.  Don't forget that you should NOT wear any items of jewellery and only ear studs may be worn.  Your book bag should be in school every day.  Try to read at home as often as possible (at least 10 minutes!) and keep practising your times tables regularly.

Follow the links below to the Top Marks website for some really good interactive resources to some of the Maths topics we will be covering this term

p.s. Our code word for the week is 'Pompeii'.  Sssshhhh don't pass it on! The first person to tell us this special code and tell us what it means will receive a class dojo!
