A Love of Learning and the Perseverance to Succeed (LLPS)

Welcome to the class page for 6F!

This term our connector is...

Mexican Mayhem

SATs week will be the week beginning the 14th of May, so leading up to this we will be revising in class. It is really important to keep practicing your spelling and arithmetic at home and using your revision guides. During SATs week there will be a special breakfast club for Year 6 pupils so make sure you get to school nice and early!

Hello and welcome to the class page for 6F. In this topic we will be learning about Mexico, past and present, including the ancient Maya civilisation.

We will be using the world map to locate Mexico and identify the surrounding countries and oceans. In small groups we will produce geographical posters about famous physical landmarks and will present these to the class. Later in the term, we will be learning the Mayan alphabet and creating Mayan mosaics. We will also understand the importance of the 'Day of the Dead' celebrations in Mexico and will have our own Mexican celebration.

In PSHE, we will begin to look at and challenge different types of stereotypes and understand how these can be damaging.

Our Science topic is ‘Light’, where the children will be learning about different light sources and will be investigating the relationship between light and shadow.

Please remember your homework on Monday and your P.E kit on Monday and Friday
