Hello and welcome to the class page for 6F. This term we will be learning about endangered animals around the world. We will find out about different animals and the reasons why they are endangered as well as looking at some of the ways that they can be protected.
In English, we will be focusing on non-fiction writing and will write an information page about an endangered animal. Our writing will be formal and the children will use different structural devices to organise their writing. We will also be reading 'Holes', a novel by Louis Sachar, and using this as the basis for our fiction writing. The children will write letters, character descriptions and diary entries as different characters from the book.
In PSHE we will be learning to develop and maintain healthy relationships and will be continue to think about acts of kindness. Our R.E focus will be Buddhism and the children will be learning about the 8 Noble Truths and the Buddhist cycle of reincarnation.
This term we will focus on number, place value and decimals. The children will be learning to identify the value of each digit in a number with up to 3dp and to multiply decimals numbers. As well as continuing to focus on arithmetic, we will further develop our reasoning skills in class.
Our Science topic is ‘All Living Things’, where the children will be learning how to identify and classify different organisms. They will also recognise the life processes of living things and will use MRS NERG to remember them.
