Our connector this term is
This half term we will be learning about Ancient Egypt. Throughout the term, you will be gathering information and creating an Egyptian scrapbook.
We will also read a range of Egyptian adventure stories and the children will use these as a model for their own writing.
In Art we will be learning the Egyptian lettering system and will be making our own hieroglyphic ink drawings.
This term we will be going on a number of trips: including a visit to the British Museum, where the children will take part in an Ancient Egyptian workshop.
Our class novel is ‘Wonder’ which you will read during reading sessions.
The Year 6 will also be preparing a production of ‘The Rocky Monster Show’ which you will perform, over two nights, to your parents.
Our focus for science is light and shadow. 6S will be able to identify and name a variety of light sources and to understand and describe how the eye sees things.
Experiments will be about identifying what happens to light when it is shone on different objects/surfaces and studying shadows and how they are formed.
