A Love of Learning and the Perseverance to Succeed (LLPS)

Welcome to 6S!

Our connector this term is

Our connector is ‘Endangered’.

This half term we will be learning about the life and habitats of endangered animals. We will research what causes an animal to become endangered and how this can be prevented. Our focus will be on African animals, where we will use the elephant, rhino and many others as inspiration for our art and writing.

We will also be reading Holes by Louis Sachar, which is my favourite book that we read in year 6! We will be using the novel to write character descriptions using characters from the book.

Our topic is ‘All Living things’ where we will be learning about plants, animals and micro-organisms. You will know the processes of all living things, focusing on MRS NERG, as well as creating classification keys to sort plants and animals.

In lessons we will be investigating the effect of different ingredients on yeast and which would produce the best loaf of bread.
