This week we will be exploring the story of Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See?
The story focuses on a lot of repetition with the sentences 'I can see..'. We will be encouraging the children to develop their language through using this sentence to describe what they can see.
Using story maps and visual cues we will be supporting the children to retell and act out the story.
We will be developing the children's vocabulary around the different animals in the story such as dog, cat, horse, duck, monkey and frog. We will be developing their awareness of descriptive vocabulary such as tail, teeth, claws, fur, feathers, beak and the different colours that feature within the story.
Through expressive arts we will be developing the children's recognition of colour names and also exploring colour mixing through paints. Do you know what happens if you mix red and blue together?
Talk Challenge activity: Can you generate a sentence to describe this animal?
