This term our connector is
A Walk On the Wild Side
This term our connector is 'Walk On The Wild Side.' We will be writing non chronological reports about animals in different habitats with a focus on woodland animals.
We will be reading a variety of fiction books including The Gruffalo. The children will be writing character descriptions of the different characters and using the book as inspiration for their creative writing.
In maths we will revisiting fractions, addition and subtraction, place value and the properties of 2D and 3D shape. There will also be a focus on telling the time to the nearest 5 minutes. Please continue to practise the 2, 5 and 10 times tables and learn the related division facts. Children will continue to develop their reasoning and problem solving skills using all four operations.
Can children please continue to practice their times tables at home.
As part of our Science topic we will be looking at a animals and their habitats and what they need to survive.

Library books and reading books are changed every Tuesday. Please make sure your child has their book as they enjoy choosing new books. If anything has happened to their book, just let me know.
Please make it a habit to read with your child and to ask them open-ended questions such as 'Why do you think...?' so that your child can really elaborate on their answer and you can also see how much your child has understood the text.
This term our PE is on Thursdays, please ensure that your child has a full PE kit, so they can participate.
Homework will go out on Fridays and we will expect it to be in by the following Wednesday.
