This week we will be learning about road safety. On Wednesday 11th January the children will be visited by our local lollipop lady. They will have the opportunity to ask her about her road and explore the different parts of her uniform such as her high visibility jacket and the lollipop stick.
The children will develop their understanding of how to keep safe when walking on the roads or playing safely on the pavement.
We will explore the stop, look and listen strategies to keep ourselves safe.
We will be thinking about the different types of crossings that we encounter on the roads such as zebra and pelican.
Time for Talk:
Some traffic lights have red and green men on them. Do you know what these lights tell us? Some lights also have a special beeping sound or a countdown. What do these tell us?
We will be thinking about and naming the different colours in our traffic light system and be exploring the purpose of each light.
