This week we will be exploring one of my most favourite story 'The very hungry caterpillar'
The children will find out about all the different yummy foods that the caterpillar ate through Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
We will discuss and brainstorm all of the different things that the caterpillar ate and think about our own favourite foods and what would happen to us if we ate too much! Would we be sick like the poor caterpillar?
We will be using purple mash food activity in our maths learning to create bar graphs of the favourite foods within our class and begin to interpret the information we have found out. Which was the most popular? which was the least favourite?
We will be developing our understanding of the world by the thinking of the different stages of the life cycle of a caterpillar as it changes into a butterfly and there a few tricky words to learn along the way such as changing, metamorphosis, pupa, cocoon, caterpillar and butterfly.
We will be creating our own beautiful prints using folded paper to replicate the lovely symmetrical patterns on butterfly wings.
