Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
Hi all,
I hope everyone is well!
I found these science experiments that look really fun and I thought maybe you could have a try at home?

Hi everyone,
I hope you are all keeping safe and well, and that you've managed to make the most of the nice weather we've had recently in whatever way that current circumstances permit.
One of the things that you can all be doing at home that will have a big impact on your learning in school when we come back is mental maths, and luckily there are lots of games you can play that will help you with this but which, more importantly, are really fun. Here are some of my favourites:
Hit the button is a classic - many children will have played it already and it's great for both key stage 1 and their number bonds or times tables higher up the school.
Countdown - this is an online version of the classic TV gameshow. You can also play a much harder version involving fractions here.
Remainders Game - this one will really get you thinking. Read the instructions carefully - you may need to play a couple of times before you get the hang of it so be persistent!
If getting online is difficult, this blog has got lots of ideas for mathematical games that you can play offline too.
Happy mathsing!
Hi Kids! Hope you are keeping safe and enjoying the Easter break.
Just wanted to remind you to share all the fun things you are doing on Purple Mash via our Home Learning Display Board. When you complete a piece of work click on 'Share' and then 'Post to a display board.'
How about using 2Create a Story or 2DIY3D to share your stories and games?
You can also share your own rainbows or drawings using 2Paint A Picture on the #thanksnhs or #thanksteachers display boards.
Morning everybody!
Today I have a link to a book about the coronavirus aimed at children. Some of you may have seen it already, but if you haven't, it is a really comprehensive explanation aimed at young people to explain more about the virus.
I hope you are all still managing to find some normality in these strange times we find ourselves in. I'd like to encourage you to continue to send in your entries for the Easter egg competition. We have had several 'eggcellent' entries so far but there is still time to send in yours!
Stay safe and well everybody,
Mrs Randles :)
Hello,
I hope everyone had a lovely and safe weekend at home.
The theme today is to tell a story. Firstly I wanted to let you all know about an online broadcast by Julia Donaldson, author of 'The Gruffalo' on Facebook every Thursday at 4pm. She is retelling her stories with the help of teddies and props. Maybe you could do the same at home.
Can you make-up your own story and illustrate it or retell your favourite? Find props? Record yourself or video it and share with your family at bedtime. The following website also allows you to listen to stories or the are lots on youtube you can hear.

Have a lovely Monday and enjoy telling your own stories.
Mrs Langstaffe
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the close of the Spring term, we are at the end of what has been a very strange 2 weeks for us all. I hope you are all starting to fall into your new ‘normal’ way of life.
The next two weeks are what would have been our Easter Holidays, I know some of you will have had to cancel plans to see family, holidays and much more. However, the weather is supposed to brighten up again over the next few days and I hope you are able to get out into the sunshine.
There are lots of ideas of activities at the bottom of this email to keep the children busy over the next couple of weeks in addition to the work the class teachers have put up on their class pages.
For you, in case you didn’t know, the National Theatre are going to stream some of their plays live every Thursday evening: https://www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/which should be a great night in for parents!
Remember, it is ok for your child to be bored and have unstructured time. Actually, there is a lot of research saying that being bored has huge benefits for children. When children are left to their own devices, they’re forced to be more creative and imaginative in finding ways to amuse themselves, it helps build their resilience and develop their problem solving skills. When your children have opportunities to occupy themselves, and manage to do so successfully, it gives their self-esteem a boost. Research has shown that allowing the mind time to wander rather than being focused on activities all the time is very important for mental health. When we talk about our childhood memories, we rarely remember anything material, it is connections, laughter and nature that we do remember!
Keep well and stay safe,
Mrs Randles

General: Beginning Monday 20 April, BBC Bitesize will publish daily online lessons for all ages https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize
I am not sure about anyone else, but compared to last week this week has flown by!
I hope you are all still safe and well, and that this week has felt a little calmer for you all.
The Easter holidays are nearly here! We will still be putting up work that can be completed at home, as well as some fun Easter activities that you may wish to try. Please try to do a little bit of work every day, but also use this time to rest and relax with your families, as you would normally do during a school break.
Over the bank holiday weekend, why not dig out the board games or maybe think about some family games that you play during yearly celebrations and try them out now instead.
There will be lots more fun learning activities coming up after the Easter break, so please ensure you keep checking the website year pages for updates.
The BBC is planning to publish daily online lessons for all ages, so keep an eye out for that too!
I hope you are all going to take part in our Easter competition, please see yesterday's news for details.
Love to you all.
Mrs Wilding
As Easter is fast approaching, we are having a special competition. Just for fun, we would like you to decorate an egg in any style that you like!
You can use whatever materials you like. You might choose to use paint or pens or cut out paper shapes or fabric or anything else you can think of! There are a few pictures below of ideas I found on google to help you find some inspiration - there are loads more online if you want to see even more ideas. You might create an egg character from your favourite book or movie, you might make an egg scene or just create a beautiful pattern.
Things to remember:
When you have created your egg design, you can enter the competition by taking a photo of it and following these instructions:
You have the whole Easter period to get decorating: the deadline for submitting your entry is SUNDAY 19TH APRIL 2020. Good luck and have fun!
