VE Day
I posted a message last week to remind you all that the 75th anniversary of VE Day is coming up this coming Friday the 8th of May 2020.
Before the lockdown came into effect, many people were planning street parties and other events to mark the day. However, all these plans have of course had to change. Here are a few of the things that are going on:
- At 11am there will be a 2 minute silence across the country to remember those who died during the war.
- At 2.45pm on BBC1, Winston Churchill's incredibly famous speech about victory in World War 2 will be played.
- At 9pm, the Queen will make a special televised speech to mark the day.
