Friday the 8th of May 2020 is going to be a bank holiday. This is very unusual because bank holidays in the UK are almost always on a Monday. However, this bank holiday is particularly special; it has been moved to a Friday because it will mark 75 years to the day since VE Day.
Now is a great time to read about what VE Day is and how it started, and possibly think of a way you could mark the 75th anniversary at home: you might draw a picture, make some bunting or decorate a cake in the appropriate colours.
